 Description

It could be as simple as documenting it.

Scenario:

  • Say at month M1, set of servers geographically distributed are installed with Linux version 20.10.
  • Say at month M5, they need to be upgraded to 22.10

How do one do it without sending personnel to remote locations?

What is the procedure to upgrade

  • Linux versions.
  • Linux packages
  • K8s versions

Is this taken care by the ClusterAPI?

If not, how can this be done?

This is taken care of via Cluster API: https://cluster-api.sigs.k8s.io/tasks/upgrading-clusters.html and https://cluster-api.sigs.k8s.io/tasks/updating-machine-templates.html.
